The RHS Flower Show Tatton Park is one of the highlights of the gardening calendar, attracting designers, gardening enthusiasts and professional gardeners from all over the UK. The show features stunning displays of flowers, plants and gardens showcasing the creativity of garden designers and landscapers.
One of the categories at this prestigious show is the Long Border competition, in which we sponsored Kiya-Ellen Rose and her Slice of Earth display. In her first time at Tatton, Kiya-Ellen won a Bronze Medal using a range of our products to create her wonderful cake and fork design!
The cake itself is a playful look at layers of soil beneath our feet and how they would look if cut into and served up as a slice of cake. For this Kiya-Ellen Heart of Eden Enriched Topsoil, AHS Puddling Clay, AHS Paving Grid, AHS Wildflower Meadow Turf Matting, Cambrian Boulders and Polar White Chippings. Also on display was a giant fork which doubled as a bug hotel.
For the garden, she used Heart of Eden All-Purpose Natural PEAT FREE Compost and Heart of Eden Composted Bark Fines to highlight her planting. All of these products are produced from UK sustainable sources and absolutely PEAT FREE, it paired wonderfully to emphasise how important it is to understand the soil beneath our feet and the impact we have on the environment around us.
We love supporting new talent who have the same desire to promote greener gardening, so keep an eye out for future collaborations with the next generation of garden designers!
